Coalition for Clean Air launches California Clean Air Day

The Coalition for Clean Air, founded in 1971, is California’s only statewide organization working exclusively on air quality issues. From creating the idea for California’s original Smog Check program in 1981 to ensuring the first national ban on the toxic dry cleaning chemical “perc” to helping pass legislation to put 1 million electric vehicles on California’s roads by 2025, CCA has paved the way for socially and environmentally responsible air policy nationally and worldwide.

With this history of success and commitment to clean air for all, CCA has embarked on a statewide effort to highlight the things individuals and organizations can do to clear the air: California Clean Air Day. This first of its kind effort provides an easy, fun way for every Californian to get involved to do their part to clear the air. On October 3, 2018, over a million people across the state will do their part to improve the health of their communities. Everyone is asked to pledge to participate and be counted as part of the solution to clean the air we breathe.
